Kipchumba questioned the motive behind Gachagua's impeachment at a time when the ruling party ought to be implementing their manifesto.

"My conscience is against the letter, the spirit and the intent of the impeachment motion against the Deputy President. Let history record that I, Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich, NEVER supported the impeachment of the Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. God bless Kenya," he stated.

During the 2022 elections, Kipchumba trounced UDA candidate to win the seat on an independent ticket.
